imessage-sdk is an open-source (MIT) TypeScript project at github.com/jmisilo/imessage-sdk, published on npm. It does not send messages by itself: you connect it to an account with a hosted iMessage provider, and it gives your code one typed client for that provider. The built-in providers are Blooio, Comms by Osis, Photon and Sendblue, and you can add your own with defineProvider(). The latest releases are from July 27, 2026.
Free, MIT-licensed software. Messaging costs depend on the provider account you connect.
Linq is a messaging provider with its own lines, API and SDKs. imessage-sdk is a client library, and it has no Linq provider. Version 0.1 handles direct conversations only: groups, edits, polls, effects, FaceTime and location sharing are postponed or out of scope, while Linq's API supports groups, edits, polls, effects and location sharing. Both offer an adapter for Vercel's Chat SDK.
TypeScript teams that want to code against one iMessage interface and keep the option to switch between the supported hosted providers.
imessage-sdk supports 23 of the 77 features compared on Linq Alternatives.
