AgentCall is a hosted phone number API for AI agents. It provisions US and Canada local and toll-free numbers that send and receive SMS, place and answer voice calls, and can run an AI voice agent or an AI texting agent on the number. It has no iMessage or RCS support.
New accounts get a one-time 72-hour trial with one local number, five inbound AI minutes and five texts to verified numbers, after a card check. Pro costs $19.99 a month plus usage: local numbers $2 a month, toll-free $2.50, outbound SMS $0.015, inbound SMS $0.008, voice $0.035 a minute, and AI voice $0.40 a minute ($0.10 with your own OpenAI key). An Agent Startup bundle at $189 a month is on a waitlist.
Linq sends iMessage, RCS and SMS. AgentCall sends SMS only, and its docs say it has no MMS. AgentCall's API places and answers calls, including AI-run calls, while Linq's docs say its API does not place or answer calls. Linq charges a flat monthly fee from $260 with no per-message fees; AgentCall charges $19.99 a month plus per-message and per-minute rates. Both publish an MCP server.
Developers who want an AI agent to have its own US or Canada number for texting, calling and receiving verification codes, and who do not need iMessage.
AgentCall supports 19 of the 77 features compared on Linq Alternatives.
