AgenticMail is MIT-licensed, self-hosted software (github.com/agenticmail/agenticmail) that gives each AI agent its own email address, inbox and API key, and optionally a phone number for SMS and calls. It runs a local Stalwart mail server in Docker and sends through a Gmail or Outlook relay or your own domain. Phone features use accounts you bring: SMS through 46elks or Google Voice, and calls through 46elks or Twilio. A separate Enterprise package adds a multi-tenant dashboard, Telegram, WhatsApp and Google Chat channels, and governance tools. The latest npm release of the CLI is 0.9.109, from June 18, 2026; since then the main branch has had only dependency updates.
The software is free. You pay for your own hosting and for carrier usage at 46elks, Twilio or Google Voice. The Enterprise package can also be deployed on a free agenticmail.io subdomain.
Linq is a hosted API for iMessage, RCS and SMS on numbers it manages, with Pro from $260 a month and a free Hobby tier. AgenticMail has no iMessage or RCS, runs on your own machine, and relies on outside carriers for SMS and calls. Linq's docs say its API does not place calls, while AgenticMail can place them. Both publish an MCP server.
Developers who want self-hosted email plus basic SMS and calling for their agents and do not need iMessage.
AgenticMail supports 29 of the 77 features compared on Linq Alternatives.
