Bridge

Bridge is an open-source SMS and phone verification API that sends through Android phones you own, with signed webhooks, an MCP server and optional SMS provider fallback.

Overview

Bridge is an open-source SMS API and phone verification service. It sends SMS through Android phones you pair, with MSG91, Twilio, Vonage or Plivo as optional fallback routes. The server, dashboard and Android app are AGPL-3.0 at github.com/Kroszborg/bridge, and the TypeScript SDK is MIT. The project is new: the repository was created in October 2026 and version 1.1.0 shipped on 10 October 2026.

Key features

  • REST API with a delivery timeline from queued to the carrier's delivery report
  • Incoming SMS forwarded to signed webhooks (Standard Webhooks format)
  • One-time password API with a drop-in widget
  • Broadcasts, scheduled messages, opt-out list and keyword auto-replies
  • TypeScript SDK, the bridgectl CLI and an MCP server
  • A daily cap per phone, 100 SMS in 24 hours by default

Pricing

Self-hosting with Docker Compose is free and has no plan limits; you supply the server, the phones and their SIM plans. Hosted Bridge has a Free plan (1 phone, 100 live SMS a month), Pro at $5 a month (3 phones, 5,000 SMS) and Team at $15 a month (10 phones, 25,000 SMS). There is no per-SMS fee.

How it compares to Linq

Bridge has no iMessage or RCS. It sends SMS from your own phones and numbers and can be self-hosted. Linq is a managed service for iMessage, RCS and SMS, from $260 a month on Pro, and cannot be self-hosted.

Best for

Developers who want SMS and verification codes sent from their own SIM cards.
