Quo

Quo, formerly OpenPhone, is a business phone system for small teams with calls and texts on shared numbers, a public API that sends texts, webhooks and a hosted MCP server.

Overview

Quo, formerly OpenPhone, is a business phone system for small teams, with calls and texts on dedicated and shared numbers in one app. Its public API sends text messages from a Quo number, lists messages and conversations, and creates webhooks for message and call events. A hosted MCP server lets AI clients read inboxes and send texts with your approval.

Key features

  • Send texts up to 1,600 characters from a Quo number through the API
  • Message and call webhooks (beta)
  • Hosted MCP server for one-to-one texts, group conversations and broadcasts sent as separate messages
  • Shared numbers, group messaging and AI message responses
  • Number porting
  • HIPAA ready, with a SOC 2 report on request

Pricing

Business is $33 per user a month ($23 billed yearly) and Scale $47 ($35 yearly). US and Canada calling and messaging are unlimited in the app, plus carrier setup and monthly messaging fees. Texts sent through the API, Zapier or Make cost $0.01 per segment in the US and Canada. Sona, its AI call agent, includes 10 calls.

How it compares to Linq

Quo texts over SMS only, with no iMessage, no RCS and no WhatsApp. Linq sends iMessage, RCS and SMS for a flat fee from $260 a month, while Quo charges per user plus $0.01 per API segment. Quo includes calling, which Linq's API does not place or answer. Both offer an MCP server.

Best for

Small teams that want shared business numbers whose texts their tools and AI clients can send.
