Overview

smsmode is a French A2P mobile messaging platform based in Marseille. It offers SMS, RCS, WhatsApp Business and text-to-speech voice messages through a web interface, plugins and REST APIs, and says more than 10,000 companies use it. It is a Google partner for RCS and hosts data in France, with an option for certified health data hosting.

Pricing

Rates depend on the destination. For France, prepaid packs start at 61 euros for 1,000 SMS (0.061 euros each). Monthly plans start at 9 euros (Basic, SMS at 0.0445 euros); the 69 euro Classic plan adds RCS from 0.035 euros and WhatsApp from 0.0069 euros per message. New accounts get 20 free test credits.

How it compares to Linq

smsmode does not offer iMessage. Linq sends iMessage, RCS and SMS through one API at a flat monthly price from $260 with no per-message fees; smsmode charges per message from prepaid packs or monthly plans. smsmode adds WhatsApp and text-to-speech calls, while Linq's WhatsApp API is in beta. Linq reports SOC 2 Type II; smsmode lists ISO 27001 and GDPR.

Best for

European, mainly French, businesses sending SMS and RCS campaigns or notifications that need data hosted in France.
