AgentLine gives AI agents US and Canada phone numbers that make and receive calls and send and receive SMS. A hosted voice agent runs each call from your prompt, and a relay can feed it live context from your own runtime. The server is open source under the MIT license (github.com/AgentLineHQ/AgentLine) and can be self-hosted with Docker; agentline.cloud is the hosted version. It has no iMessage or RCS support.
Hosted plans are Individual at $20 a month (1 number, 100 minutes, 400 SMS), Scale at $50 (3 numbers, 200 minutes, 1,000 SMS) and Startup at $200 (12 numbers, 1,000 minutes, 3,000 SMS). Past the plan, extra numbers cost $3 a month, calls $0.12 a minute and SMS $0.02 each. Self-hosting is free software; you pay your carrier, speech and model providers.
Linq sends iMessage, RCS and SMS from managed lines; AgentLine covers SMS, MMS and voice only. AgentLine's hosted voice agent places and answers calls, while Linq's docs say its API does not place or answer calls. Linq is a closed, fully managed platform with flat pricing and no per-message fees; AgentLine's server is MIT-licensed and self-hostable, and its hosted plans bill usage past the allowance. Both offer an MCP server and a Python SDK.
Developers who want an AI agent to hold phone conversations and text from a US or Canada number, including teams that want to self-host it on their own carrier account.
AgentLine supports 25 of the 77 features compared on Linq Alternatives.
