Messente

Overview

Messente is a business messaging company based in Tallinn, Estonia, with more than a decade in SMS. Its Omnichannel API sends SMS, Viber, WhatsApp and RCS messages from one REST endpoint, and it adds OTP and number lookup APIs. Data is stored in EU data centers in Germany and Finland. It does not offer iMessage.

Pricing

Pay as you go has no monthly fee and charges per SMS segment by country, for example 0.0136 EUR to the US, 0.0447 EUR to the UK and 0.0767 EUR to Germany. A commitment plan lowers rates. WhatsApp and Viber start from 0.001 EUR plus Meta or Rakuten fees and a subscription quoted by sales. Number Lookup costs 199 EUR a month plus 0.002 EUR per number.

How it compares to Linq

Linq sends iMessage, RCS and SMS from real phone numbers for a flat monthly fee. Messente has no iMessage, bills each SMS segment, and adds Viber and WhatsApp. Linq states SOC 2 Type II; Messente states ISO 27001:2022 and EU hosting.

Best for

European teams sending SMS, Viber and WhatsApp notifications or OTP codes who want EU data storage and do not need iMessage.
