Orbit by Devotel

Overview

Orbit is a communications platform from Devotel, a wholesale telecom operator, run by Devotel UK LTD. It puts SMS, RCS, WhatsApp, voice, email, Viber, Telegram, Apple Messages for Business and other chat apps behind one API and one prepaid balance, with AI agents and a contact center built in. It does not offer iMessage; its docs note that Apple Messages for Business is not person-to-person iMessage.

Pricing

Pay as you go with no monthly fee or minimum. US SMS starts at $0.0075 per segment and RCS at $0.01 per message. AI agents cost $0.007 per message or $0.014 per voice minute. Enterprise adds negotiated rates, SSO, dedicated capacity and private-cloud deployment.

How it compares to Linq

Linq sends iMessage, RCS and SMS from real phone numbers for a flat monthly fee. Orbit has no iMessage and bills per message, but covers more channels, including WhatsApp, voice and email. Linq states SOC 2 Type II; Orbit says its SOC 2 audit has not been done yet.

Best for

Developers who want SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, voice and AI agents on one pay-as-you-go account and do not need iMessage.
