tyntec started in 2002, when founder Thorsten Trapp built technology to make SMS usable as a business tool. It serves enterprises that need to verify, authenticate and message customers, and mobile operators that want to earn from A2P traffic and network APIs. It says it has staff from more than 40 countries.

tyntec does not offer iMessage from phone numbers, which is Linq's main channel. Both offer SMS and RCS. tyntec also sends WhatsApp and Viber through the same Conversations API, while Linq's WhatsApp is a separate beta API. Linq lists flat monthly plans from $260 for Pro; tyntec does not publish prices.
