Overview

GatewayAPI is a messaging API platform from Denmark, run by ONLINECITY.IO. It sends A2P SMS, RCS Business Messaging and email, and offers an EU-only setup where hosting, ownership and routing stay inside the EU. It does not offer iMessage, WhatsApp or voice.

Pricing

Pay as you go per message with no subscription. Standard-route SMS costs 0.0201 EUR to the US and 0.0401 EUR to Denmark. RCS starts at 0.0410 EUR per message in Denmark. Virtual numbers start at 10 EUR a month. New accounts get free test credits.

How it compares to Linq

Linq sends iMessage, RCS and SMS from real phone numbers for a flat monthly fee. GatewayAPI has no iMessage and bills each message, but adds email and an EU-hosted option. Linq states SOC 2 Type II; GatewayAPI cites ISAE 3000 and 3402 audits for GDPR.

Best for

European teams that want low-cost SMS and RCS with EU data residency and do not need iMessage.
